This website is going to follow the life and times of
Fritz, a German Wirehaired Pointer. We'll follow him through puppydom and on
through adulthood, watching, listening, and displaying all the wonders that
are a new dog in the family. I can easily say that Fritz came to me as one of
the smartest and most biddable puppies I have ever had the pleasure of
sharing my home with. He is a true testament to the hard work and love that
Gary and Deb have put into their kennel. Watching Fritz up to this point,
seeing his natural instincts develop, and his general good demeanor I would
highly recommend that anyone looking for a hunting Wirehair drop Gary a
line. If listening to Gary's good nature and obvious love for his dogs
doesn't convince you, seeing one in action
surely will. Hope you come back to see us real soon! |

November 5, 2007 Fritz and I spent last weekend in the Catskills of NY State. What a partridge hatch they had this year. Fritz is learning the routine with not crowding these little thunder chickens. The last day we were there Fritz and I took a walk into a thorn apple thicket and it all came together. Fritz got wind of the bird and locked on point like a trooper. Unfortunately the cover was very thick and I was too excited to remember to take the all important photos. After a great performance of being steady to flush Fred missed in grand fashion. Fritz was not happy but decided he'd give 'em another chance. We are heading back up this weekend to continue our education and pursuit of ole ruff himself. Fritz's North Dakota stitches have been removed and he's as good as new. Very excited to be able to swim again. It was a long couple of weeks for him not getting in the water. We are still waiting for the bigger flights of woodcock to appear here in southern NJ. We didn't even put a timberdoodle up during our NY trip but heard rumors of big numbers of birds further north. Another week or two should do the trick. Our coastal waterfowl season opened here on Saturday. Hopefully we will get a chance to get out in the next couple of weeks for some water work. Still not a great number of birds here but enough to keep Fritz on his toes (-: More to come...... Take care and God Bless... Fritz and Fred
